Steaks on Mount Arrowsmith

This might be one of my most cherished memories, honestly. I mean, steak dinner on top of a mountain? With a brilliant view? And great company? What on earth could be better than that. And to top it off, I even brought my knitting with me. Life is bliss.

I want you to experience this with me:

The sunset over Port Alberni and the Juan de Fuca was one of the most memorable. Although the clouds were thick and grey, the sun still managed to shine through and completely light up the valley in a golden glow.

In the morning we watched the sunrise from inside our tent... and outside. But it was so foggy sometimes we couldn't see anything, it was like the whole world had been swallowed by a deep grey abyss and there was nothing but us in our little tents on a little mountain. It made me feel so big and so small at the same time. It's a feeling that's hard to describe.

But the best thing to do on a mountain, I think, is knitting 🧶

I'm so grateful I had the chance to do this with some of my closest friends. It's an experience not everybody gets the chance to do. And the thing that surprises me so much, is that it was so easy. Everybody could do it if they can lug a cast iron frying pan up a mountain. There are so many things like this that are such a meaningful experience and so do-able for everybody

if they put just a little bit of effort in. Weather it's steak dinner on a mountain or somethings simple like... going to the beach. I know going to the beach would be a lot harder for someone who lives somewhere weird like Saskatchewan 😜

So what are you waiting for? If there's something you've been wanting to do but just haven't made the time or taken the effort to make it happen, just do it! I know you can, you know you can. You won't regret it.

Thank you so much for reading and sharing in this experience with me.

I love you!

Gaelyn
