Evanoff Park : The Most Inspiring Place in BC

Come with me and explore one of the most beautiful and inspiring places in British Columbia! I've never adored a place as strongly as I adore Evanoff Provincial Park.

While I was visiting my family in Prince George in August, my brother and I decided to go on a little camping trip. So we headed out in the early morning, driving through misty meadows, and watched the sun rise over a lake.

About two hours east of Prince George and 40 kilometers up a logging road is the trail-head to one of the most awe-inspiring

provincial parks I've been to. I was so taken with the landscape and scenery that I stopped every 10 minutes to take photos and sometimes just to stare. The whole

place was so inspiring that it felt like my heart was going to explode with how beautiful it was and how much I loved it there.

Evanoff Provincial Park is home to the Fang Caves which is the ninth longest cave system in Canada There are a few entrances into the system that we came across. It's a little unnerving when you realize that the ground you are walking on is sitting on top of a giant network of veins running hollow beneath your feet.

The first part of the trail is climbing up the side of a mountain. Hiking up the valley, it felt like the land was funneling us through a gate that was guarded by mountain giants.

The area was forested so we had no idea what we were walking into. But when we got to the upper valley and the trees cleared, I couldn't believe how lucky I was to be in this place, in the presence of these hills, these lakes, these trees.

We spent the night beside a creek, listening to the water chirping all night. The sky was clear so we left the fly off our tent so that we could see the stars, but the moon was so full and bright that we could barely see them! I think that week it was a super moon so it was extra bright and beautiful.

We decided to get up before sunrise so we set an alarm for 4:30 am, which would give us enough time to get on top of Fang Mountain before the sun rose at 5:30.

In the morning... everything was wet! Our pack covers were layered in frost, the outside of our sleeping bags was damp, and there was a puddle of water in the tent underneath our sleeping mats. Luckily our shoes were dry under our packs, and I had wrapped my camera in my rain jacket to protect against moisture.

We decided to leave it all and just take our breakfast to the summit of Fang Mountain. And what a show we saw.

The sun shone bright red through the smoke, the clouds created marble patterns in the sky. It was so worth it!

I can't even describe how alive this place made me feel. I wish I could transport you in space and time, and take you to this peaceful haven so you can experience it too. I am truly speechless. I can't wait to visit again and spend more time here.

You can browse through my photos, but they only show you a glimpse of the natural beauty. I won't share them all because a lot of them are duplicates of me trying to capture as much as I could. I couldn't stop!

Thank you for visiting my little blog! It makes me so happy to share my stories and photography with you. You are SO appreciated! See you next time.

Lots of love!
